Best. Tweet. Ever.

Best.Tweet.EVER

For those of you who don't know who Bill Corbett is, you should feel a little bit of shame. He is the voice of none other than this wonderful creation (well, the second voice):

For those of you who don't know who that robot is, you should feel the deepest shame imaginable.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a magical moment in TV history where the stars aligned and actually made good TV! I've been watching it for about 11 years. My family and I were on vacation in Lone Pine and stumbled across the black and white classic "The Screaming Skull". Being of highly refined taste in bad movies we were quite excited. Then we realized there were three figures in front of the screen and they were mocking the movie! So incredibly perfect. From that night on I've been hooked on MST3K. When they were still on SciFi I would record them on a VCR player (Hear that kids? A VCR player!). If I were to give my high school boyfriend a high mark it would be that he loved to watch these with me. He would record them too. We'd come back from a long day of speech and debate and watch a good MST3K. ***That sentence makes me seem incredibly nerdy. Whoa.***

My family often speaks in MST3K language. Using quips and riffs from the movies. You might here us say "Panty hose are itchy! Itchy, itchy, itchy!" or "By the way... You're welcome." How about this gem: "Rock and Roll martian!"?  Total nonsense to most, special colloquial happiness for us.

I happen to follow Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy on Twitter because they are still REALLY funny. I opened up my account this morning and I laughed at something he wrote. I sent a message to him thinking that it would be lost in the celebrity realm of Twitter. Nope. He actually responded. What a cool guy.
I'm actually helping to keep my sanity with the help of my robot friends!
